Ingredients:
4 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work best)
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Thoroughly wash and core the apples, ensuring the bottom remains intact. You can trim a bit off the bottom for stability.
In a bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
Arrange the cored apples in a baking dish.
Generously spoon the cinnamon-sugar mixture over each apple, making sure to fill the center as well.
For a crunchy twist, sprinkle chopped nuts on top if you’d like.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and tender.
Allow the apples to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve these delightful apples warm, paired with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream.
